THE SOUND OF SUMMER ON JARUN: MACEO PLEX, PAROV STELAR AND BAJAGA HEADLINE ZAGREB MUSIC FEST 2025

From June 6 to 8, the south side of Zagreb’s Jarun once again becomes a place where rhythms, sun, and all those who believe that music is not just a sound, but an experience. In its new edition, Zagreb Music Fest presents three strong headliners from three completely different worlds: electronic virtuoso Maceo Plex, electro-swing maestro Parov Stelar, and the eternal Bajaga with his Instructors.

The first day of the festival is signed by Future Scope – an institution of the Zagreb electronic scene, which this year celebrates 23 years of creating unforgettable musical moments. What about the line-up for this celebration? More than seriously.

Friday: Maceo Plex and Eelke Kleijn – synergy of techno, house, and nostalgia

Maceo Plex, a pioneer who erases the boundaries between house, techno, and electro, returns to Croatia for the first time after 12 years. His sets are fluid and atmospheric – he combines deep house groove, electro, and techno structure, all woven with melody and carefully dosed vocals. He often inserts his unreleased tapes, edit,s and old-school electro moments that make him recognizable. There are no gaps in his work – Maceo Plex is a DJ who builds a story in layers, but always in a danceable and intelligent manner.

Along with him comes Eelke Kleijn – a Dutch producer whose sound is a sophisticated crossover between progressive house and soundtrack atmosphere. His tapes ended up in movie trailers, but Eelke is still most “himself” on stage, where he builds emotions slowly but powerfully. Local support consists of Jock, Lemon and Shipe – each with a unique signature of the Croatian clubbing scene.

Saturday: Parov Stelar and orchestrated groove for body and heart

Saturday is reserved for live euphoria, featuring the live performance of Parov Stelar and its irresistible electro swing. With his band, he creates an audio-visual show that simultaneously excites the audience and pulls you into a parallel world where Charleston and breakbeat are in sync. If you think you know what to expect, you don’t. Parov Stelar does not perform concerts; he transforms them into mini spectacles.

Before him, local talent J.R. will take the stage. August – introspective, epic, yet modest. A musician whose songs don’t ask for attention, but deserve it. A triple Porin winner who combines intoxicating melancholy and blues in every tone. After him comes Pocket Palma, with a touch of synth-pop and 80s-scented melancholy – but no kitsch, just pure style. The evening is closed by El Siciliano and DJ Frx, as icing on the already seriously danced cake.

6:00 p.m. – DJ Frx
7:30 p.m. – J.R. August
8:45 p.m. – Pocket Palm
10:00 p.m. – DJ El Siciliano

12:30 a.m. – DJ Frx

Sunday: Bajaga, reggae, and a final to remember

Sunday brings things back to their roots – first, Brain Holidays with positive reggae vibes take the stage, then new wave romantics Renato Metessi & Zvijezde, whose lyrics still sound like a soundtrack for falling in love.

And then – Bajaga & the Instructors. A band that combines three generations of audiences and still delivers concert sets as if we were in the 80s. Lyrics that you know by heart, choruses that are sung without thinking, and the feeling that you are part of something bigger—the perfect end to a festival that doesn’t choose a genre, but quality.

The schedule of performances:
7:30 p.m. – Brain Holidays
8:30 p.m. – Renato Metessi & the Stars
9:30 p.m. – Bajaga & Instructors
