Musical Evenings in Sv. Donat are the most famous Zadar and one of the oldest Croatian festivals of classical and early music, with a tradition since 1961. They are held every summer in the Church of Sv. Donat in Zadar, and in 2025 they will celebrate their 65th edition.

The festival lasts from July 3 to August 5, 2025 and offers a rich program with more than 20 events, including concerts, musical performances and educational content. This year, the emphasis is on women in music, and the jubilees of the Zadar Chamber Orchestra and the Croatian Baroque Ensemble are also in focus.

The official opening was held on July 4, 2025 with the performance of the HRT Symphony Orchestra, the Zadar Chamber Orchestra and the Zadar Dance Ensemble, conducted by Ivan Repušić. The program included performances of works by Antun Dolički, Šima Dešpalje, Nikolaj Rimsky-Korsakov (“Scheherazade”) and Maurice Ravel (“Bolero”) choreographed by the Zadar Dance Ensemble.

The festival nurtures and promotes Croatian and world musical heritage, with a special emphasis on chamber, medieval and renaissance music, and regularly gathers top domestic and international performers.

A concert by violinist Roman Simović has been announced for July 7, 2025 in the church of St. Donat starting at 9 p.m.
