Marko Perković Thompson set a new world record by selling an incredible 281,774 tickets for the concert on July 5 at the Zagreb Hippodrome. This historic moment for the music world was marked by unprecedented audience interest—almost half of the tickets were sold in the first six hours of sale, which further emphasizes the magnitude of this event.

Beat the world’s most outstanding performers

Thompson’s concert is now the best-selling concert in history, surpassing the previous record held by Italian artist Vasco Rossi, whose concert in Modena in 2017 attracted 225,173 attendees. Thompson surpassed that record by as much as 25%, leaving behind legendary artists such as Bijelo Dugmet, Glay, and Paul McCartney.

Record sales and plans for an additional concert

Ticket sales began on March 28 and caused an absolute euphoria among fans – more than a million people tried to access the system to buy tickets at the same time, with virtual queues of over 200,000 people. The tickets were sold out in less than 24 hours, and due to the considerable interest, the organization of an additional concert on July 6 is being considered, which is currently being negotiated with the city authorities.

Hippodrome as a symbol of large gatherings

The Zagreb Hippodrome, with a capacity that allows an unlimited number of standing visitors, has been hosting major events for decades. Although concerts like the Rolling Stones (80,000 visitors) and Ed Sheeran (70,000 visitors) left their mark, Thompson’s performance sets a new standard for music events in Croatia.

A historic moment for Croatian music

This concert is not only the biggest in Croatian history but also a global phenomenon that will mark July this year. With production comparable to the performances of world stars such as the Rolling Stones and Metallica, Thompson’s team promises a spectacular show that will be remembered for generations.
